Moen MotionSense Arbor

Both faucets are designed with a stylish look reminiscent of modern faucets. Their height, high arc design and curvy dumbbell shape make them able to fill up large pots and pans without any maneuvering by the users. They also come with a single lever or handle located at the base of the faucet to aid easy operation and control the water’s temperature.

Color

The Moen MotionSense Arbor comes in three color variations: Oil-Rubbed Bronze, Chrome, and Spot Resist Stainless Finish. A large percentage of users tend to prefer the Spot Resist Stainless model because just as its name suggests, this model ensures that the faucet is not riddled with fingerprints and water spots that are trademark signs of a faucet that has been used over time.

Due to this obvious preference, the Haysfield was released in only one design color option: the Spot Resist Stainless Finish, ensuring that your faucet remains spot-free throughout its lifetime.

Motion Sensors

These faucets employ Moen’s exclusive MotionSense technology to achieve the touchless feature users have raved about. This technology works via two sensors embedded in the faucet. One sensor is located on top of the faucet while the other is located at the base just above the faucet’s handle. These two sensors act in separate ways to provide the desired touchless feature.

Once you wave your hand over the top of the faucet, the sensor located at the top is immediately activated and water flows out. To stop the flow, you have two options: you can either wave your hand again over the top of the faucet or decide to wait for 2 minutes for the water to automatically shut off.

The bottom sensor becomes activated once it senses movement near the base of the faucet, such as your hand, a glass, or a pot. Once it is activated, water flows out and stops only when the source of activation is removed or after a period of 2 minutes.

This hands-off technology for turning on your faucet is truly a brilliant idea, but just like every brilliant idea, it has its own downsides. A lot of users claim it takes quite a while for them to get used to the touchless feature, mainly because once the sensors, especially the one at the top senses any hand movement above it, it releases a steady stream of water and ends up wetting the sleeves and clothes of both family members and guests.

Thankfully, Moen has put in place several measures to prevent this accidental discharge of water. Users can temporarily disable the top sensor by holding their hand over it for 5 seconds. To re-enable it, just repeat the same gesture for the same period of time. Another option involves rotating the faucet to face an area not really frequented in the kitchen so as to prevent accidental activation. A final resort is to completely disable the sensors using the instruction manual and make use of the handle to operate your faucets manually.

Pull-Out Spray Head and the Pause Feature

Another well-appreciated design of these faucets is their pull-out spouts or spray heads. If you have a large dirty pot at a considerable distance from the washing area, there is no need to lug it to the sink. Simply pull out the spray head and its braided flexible hose uncoils from the faucet and extends to the desired point. The spray head is designed with a pause button that can be pressed to stop the water flow as you are moving the hose over the counter and released when you’ve gotten to your final destination.

Once done, manual replacement of the head is not required. Just let the spout go and it smoothly glides and docks itself securely back into place. The faucets achieve these using Moen’s Reflex system.

Spray Patterns

While the spout is in its pull-out mode, you can toggle between two spray modes: a steady aerated stream for everyday cleaning and a more powerful spray for heavy-duty applications via the included buttons and Moen’s PowerClean technology.

They are designed with the same flow rate and water consumption of about 1.5 to 2 GPM (Gallons per Minute)

Convenient Features

The Moen MotionSense Haysfield comes with a soap dispenser, while the Arbor doesn’t. On the other hand, the Arbor is designed with an eco-performance feature that helps in conserving water usage by using less water and still giving an optimal performance.

Power Source

They both require 6 AA batteries to function and these batteries are included in the products’ packaging. However, these batteries do not last long and must be constantly replaced. Purchasing an AC adapter helps eliminate the need for batteries.

Warranty

Both faucets come with a limited lifetime warranty.
