Size and Appearance

Both the Graco Magnum X5 and the Graco Magnum LTS 15 have nearly identical appearances. Save for the different logo on the front of the motor of these airless paint sprayers, they are the same colors and design. They both have two short, bent legs to support the weight of the motor. The motor is incased in blue plastic with a gray front and the Graco Magnum logo and number on the front.

Graco Magnum X5

For how similar they are, they are slightly different sizes. The Graco Magnum LTS 15 is less than a half a pound lighter than the Graco Magnum X5, it is both longer and wider than the Graco Magnum X5. However, the Graco Magnum X5 is slightly taller than the Graco Magnum LTS 15. The hose that both models come with is the same bright blue as the body.

Performance

The Graco Magnum X5 is especially loved by customers, and ease-of-use is definitely one of those things that customers appreciate. Many customers noted that these products have enough power to be effective as well as they are easy to use. The Graco Magnum X5 is especially praised for its durability as well, although the Graco Magnum LTS 15 falls behind in this regard. While the maximum tip for these is .015 inches, using smaller tips is optional making these systems rather versatile.

These are also effective in how they spray paint thanks to stainless steel pump which allow even unthinned paints to spray at high pressures. If you want less pressure, though, these systems are adjustable as well so you can have more control paint flow. Unfortunately, these come with a 25-foot hose to start with which most customers ended up having to replace it with a longer hose. Many also complained that these do not come with wheels or carts for easy movement during a job without having to carry a 20-pound system around.

Cleaning

When most people think of cleaning out a paint sprayer, they think of it as an impossible chore. For many paint sprayers, this is true but these models are different. While they still make a bit of a mess while you clean them, there are a couple of features put in place on both models to make this process easier.

The reverse-a-clean spray tip helps to clear any clogs in the tip due to dry or thick paint. You can also power flush these systems, meaning you can hook them up to a garden hose to quickly rinse paint away. However, some customers did note that while it was easy, cleaning the Graco Magnum LTS 15 still took a while even up to 30 minutes to clean.

Capacity

Both the Graco Magnum X5 and the Graco Magnum LTS 15 can support a 1-gallon to 5-gallon paint can. However, it is also important to consider the yearly suggested maximum load, which is how much should be used to ensure a long lifespan. For each of these machines, Graco suggests a maximum of 125 gallons of paint per year.

Durability

As far as durability, the Graco Magnum X5 outperforms the Graco Magnum LTS 15 by far. This is because, quite frankly, the Graco Magnum LTS 15 isn’t made to be as long-lastin. While the Graco Magnum X5 is made for smaller projects for the long run, even with semi-frequent use, the Graco Magnum LTS 15 isn’t.

To ensure longevity, the Graco Magnum LTS 15 will last the longest if you use it occasionally. There were even some customers that reported the unit breaking after only 60 gallons of use. Although some users noted that it is worth more than renting a unit, but by comparison to the Graco Magnum X5, it isn’t as impressive.

Accessories

Both these models come with a hose so you don’t have to buy it separately. Unfortunately, this hose is only 25 feet long, so most customers end up buying a new one regardless. However, both models can handle a hose up to 75 feet.

Convenient Features

Both these units have convenient features to make your life a little easier when you use them. We have already covered that there are various cleaning features such as reverse-a-clean to help with clogged tips. There is also a power flush capability to hook a hose up to your unit for easy cleaning.

A stainless-steel piston pump allows even unthinned paints to be sprayed at high pressures on both models. For even further control, both also feature an adjustable pressure dial. Their PushPrime start also makes sure that you don’t have to struggle to turn on your paint sprayer before you work on a project.

Warranty

Graco covers their products with a one-year limited warranty. This means that if there are any defects in manufacturing or the product breaks during use as Graco recommends, they will cover you.

Pros and Cons

Graco is a well-known and well-loved brand for their supplies. As such, both these units have plenty to brag about. Both offer enough power to get the job done and are easy to use. In addition, they are both lightweight and customers have said that each of them are worth the money. Other customers noted that for how lightweight they are, they are also powerful to compete with other, larger models.

However, both have some downfalls as well. Neither comes with a cart with wheels. While they are both light, many customers found it inconvenient to have to lift and carry them in the middle of a project. The Graco Magnum X5 has issues with suction when your paint bucket gets low, according to some customers. The Graco Magnum LTS 15, on the other hand, has a relatively short lifespan compared the X5.
