Both the strollers are designed to be able to fit through most doorways. Moreover, customers said they had a hard time maneuvering around the City Mini Double, as the tires are a bit thin meaning they can easily get caught between objects and the stroller didn’t climb on to the curb on its own when pushed. This means that you will need to lift the stroller onto the curb which can create a major inconvenience if you are traversing the city. The stroller, however, is light weighted and small, with self-standing mechanism which makes it convenient when storing or carrying. The canopy for each seat needs to be removed for the City Mini Double to get the car seat in place.
Canapy and Brakes
Although there were some complaints about the Joovy Scooter canopy’s window location. Some commented that its location was a bit “too in the middle” which didn’t really show the children. Summary and Recommendation
If I were choosing between the two scooters, I’d go with the Joovey Scooter X2 as it is much easier to transport, manage through various terrain, and it might be a bit sturdier as well. There are a few quirks, but I don’t think that they are too difficult to deal with. And those pluses definitely outweigh the minuses.
That isn’t to say that the City Mini Double isn’t a good choice. It is lightweight and neutral, making it a good gender neutral choice. But what detracted me was the reports of customers having some issues getting the wheels to climb the curb naturally.
Still, given your individual situation, you may decide that you wouldn’t mind giving the City Mini a try. Perhaps a sale could make it a good value for when you’re ready to make your purchase.
