Both the Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jiffy Steamer 0611 are a part of Jiffy Steamer’s line of ESTEAM travel steamers. They both are about the same weight, sitting at just around 3 pounds when they are full and ready to use. These steamers are available in two colors; pink and black.

The shape of these steamers is extremely convenient as well. They are slender in design and small enough to store in your luggage without taking up too much space. Many customers do, however, recommend that you plan to keep these in your suitcase rather than a carry on. The thin, cylindrical shape helps keep size minimal but an easy-to-grip handle doesn’t sacrifice how easy it is to use either.

Both these Jiffy Steamer products are manufactured in the United States. As such, the voltage of both the Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jimmy Steamer 0611 is made for North American use but Jiffy Steamer sells adapters with these products for an extra charge if one is needed for travel overseas. A 600-watt heating element powers each of these models. The Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jiffy Steamer 0611 can heat up in less than two minutes.

Performance

When you are traveling for business, a wedding, or anything else the last thing you want is to walk around in crumpled, wrinkled clothes. As such, you need the Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jiffy Steamer 0611 to be effective in how they work. As far as steaming goes, these ESTEAM models work well. However, they do take slightly longer than advertised to heat up. According to several customers, it took closer to around 3 or more minutes to heat rather than the 1 to 2 minutes that Jiffy Steamer advertises. This is a marginal performance error, though, and would only really cause a problem if you are pressed for time.

Cleaning

While cleaning a steamer may not be a thought that comes to mind often, Jiffy Steamer has very specific instructions on how to clean your steamer. The first thing that Jiffy Steamer asks customers to do is pour 4 ounces of water into your unit and bring it to full steam. Then you will let the steamer cool for 2 minutes after unplugging it and then pour the water out. After this, pour 5 ounces of Jiffy Steamer Liquid Cleaner and leave it in for 2 hours but do not steam it – just let it sit. Then pour out the cleaner and flush the unit with clean water at least 3 times before steaming again.

Capacity

Both the Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jiffy Steamer 0611 have a capacity of 8 ounces. This can be filled with tap water but doesn’t need salt added as some steamers do. When you fill one of these steamers to full capacity, you should get just about 15 minutes of use out of it before it needs to be refilled.

Durability

Much like you need a good performance, you also need a product that will survive your travels and use. In general, customers found that these steamers will last you a while as long as you take care of them. If you fail to clean them with the steps mentioned above, the buildup of calcium scale can cause the lifespan of these travel steamers to be cut short. As to potential cracking or breaking, the plastic housing of these steamers are impressive.

Jiffy Steamer covers both their Jiffy Steamer 0601 model and their Jiffy Steamer 0611 with a limited warranty of 3 years. If your steamer breaks or malfunctions within the first three years of use, then Jiffy Steamer will help to replace or repair your unit.

Pros and Cons

These models work well and are designed to slip into a luggage case with little to no trouble. They are extremely easy to fill and easy to use, with a simple design and easy to grip handle as well. Both the Jiffy Steamer 0601 and the Jiffy Steamer 0611 models are quick heating up as well, so they work even if you are in a hurry and need to steam something quickly. With a water level window, it is also easy to tell whether you need to refill your steamer or not, so there is no guesswork involved for you.

There are some drawbacks to these products, though, in addition to the ones already discussed. One of the most unfortunate drawbacks is that some customers found that the double-insulated outer housing that was supposed to keep the outside cool, failed. This makes it hard to refill while in use without getting slightly burnt, so it is suggested that you turn the unit off to avoid injury.
