Size and Appearance

Brondell S900 vs S1000

Brondell S900 Bidet Toilet Seat

The first thing the customer will notice about these two seats is their similar appearance.  Both of the seats are about 14 pounds and about 20” x 15” x 6”, which makes it easy to adjust to the current toilet seat.  Both seats use 120 volts and come with batteries included.  A slight option difference between the two units is that the Brondell S900 only comes with the color choice white; while the Brondell S1000 comes the with the color choice of white and beige.  This may seem small to some but other customers may be swayed by color scheme.

Performance

The Brondell S900 and S1000 are both equipped with extremely durable dual stainless steel adjustable nozzles.  Each nozzle features a three level adjustable width (wider concentrated stream to a softer more personal stream).  Each aerated wash spray, sprays micro bubble wash spray which is gentler for sensitive skin.  Each nozzle has the option of 5 different positions, ensuring a comfortable clean. The two bidet seats feature ergonomic heated seats with four temperature settings (High/Med/Low/Off).   Instant and endless stream of warm water washes with cutting edge system, helping reduce power consumption by 60%. This is an especially great attribute for those customers who live in some of our chillier regions.  Both the Brondell S900 and the Brondell S1000 are environmentally friendly, they cut down on the use of toilet paper and feature an automatic Eco-Mode, which lowers the seat temperature when the toilet seat is not in use.

Both seats have a quick release making it easier for the removal of the seat for cleaning or any other reason the customer may have.  They also a have a ‘no slam’ feature for a gentle closure.

The main differences (aside from color choice) between the Brondell S900 and the Brondell S1000 are the S1000 has a warm air dryer with 3 levels leaving your hands free.  This feature has many good reviews from returning customers as an added perk to a less than comfortable part of their day. This is a plus for the environmentally conscious because the usage of toilet paper is greatly depleted.

Another feature the Brondell S1000 has that the Brondell S900 does not feature is a deodorizer, ridding the toilet of any odors after each use.  This feature helps keep the customer’s bathroom smelling fresh after each use and eliminating any embarrassing odors that may wonder into the rest of the household.  One con of this system is that the sensor may be a little sensitive and could deodorize while no one has used the unit.  This was not a big concern, more of an annoyance than a problem with the actual seat.

The last two differences between the Brondell S900 and the Brondell S1000 are nozzle sterilization and nozzle oscillation. The s1000 has both of these features. Nozzle sterilization activates a powerful wash treatment for the dual nozzles. This keeps the nozzles cleaner and more hygienic for a longer life.  This process starts after usage and last about 5 seconds.  Nozzle oscillation ensures a thorough and comfortable clean, which no one can argue as a bad feature on any toilet seat.

Comments and/or Concerns

One question came up about these is can the customer sit on the lid while closed (usually for bathrooms with limited space), this is not recommend the lid while closed cannot takes as much weight as the seat itself. I’ve done this before and actually broke the toilet seat. One concern that came up a few times for each product was leaky nozzles.  Most concerns were cleared up by Brondell’s excellent customer service.

Installation

The installation and assembly was praised by many of the customer who bought either unit, saying installation was easy and all the customer would need are tools found in most households (wrench and screwdriver).  Most customers commenting that it took them less than an hour to have their seats up and running.

Summary and Recommendation

After researching both the Brondell S900 and the Bronell S1000, I was not quick to decide but after debating and re-reading a couple reviews my choice would be the Brondell S1000.  Yes this may be the more expensive option but there is always weight in you get what you pay for.  This is something that will be used daily, multiple times a day, so it is nice that this unit comes with a 3 year warranty.  Also, the comfort of the air dryer is a little fancy but something I would be willing to pay for.  The oscillation feature is great as well because I know I will be leaving the bathroom with a great clean. The deodorizing is another great feature that helps with any embarrassing odors that may wonder, and who wants that.
