Size and Appearance

Both the Bissell Spotbot and the Bissell SpotClean are made to clean the stains out of your floor when you don’t need a full-sized carpet cleaner. The Bissell SpotClean is slightly lighter than the Bissell Spotbot at around 13 pounds. The main body of this spot cleaner is black, with accents in grey. The tank, however, is clear so it can easily be checked.

The Bissell Spotbot is slighter heavier than the Bissell SpotClean at around 14 pounds. These models are mainly two shades of gray that Bissell describe as silver sparkle and jus tin silver. Much like the Bissell SpotClean, the tank on the Bissell Spotbot is also clear.

Power

These spot cleaner models are corded, so they must be plugged in to work. The Bissell Spotbot has a power cord length at 16 feet. While the Bissell SpotClean has a much longer cord at 22 feet. The Bissell SpotBot has a power rating of 3 amps and the Bissell SpotClean is 5.7 amps. Both models have enough power to get the job done.

Performance

These models were both highly praised for their performance. The compact designs of these devices allow them to be easily moved around your home and used even on stairs without a problem.  There are some durability problems with the performance of the Bissell Spotbot, but these will be discussed in a moment.

Cleaning

If your machine is dirty, it loses some of its power to clean your carpet. For the main machine, Bissell suggests that you suction tap water through the hose to clean it out. You should also be sure to clean out the dirt tanks after each use then rinse the tank and all tools and set them out to air dry after each use. This is important to do after each use to make sure that no dirt gets built up in your spot cleaner.

Capacity

The size of the tank on these spot cleaners is important, since it effects the amount of cleaning solution you can keep in the device at a time – affecting how often you must refill it. The Bissell SpotClean has a slightly larger tank with a capacity of ¾ gallon or about 3 quarts. The Bissell Spotbot doesn’t lag far behind, though, at a capacity of 32 ounces or exactly 1 quart.

Durability

The durability of these models is generally fantastic, lasting many customers several years of use. However, several customers did have complaints about the Bissell Spotbot declining in its suction power after a while of use.

Accessories

There are certain attachments and extras that come with both the Bissell SpotClean and the Bissell Spotbot that help these models achieve the best clean possible. The Bissell SpotClean comes with a 6” stair tool which helps with those tough spots in the corner of your stairs. They also both come with a Tough Stain Tool to quickly clean up any messes or spills when they happen so that they don’t become a deep blemish on your carpet. Both these models also come with a hose to clean harder to reach stains.

Convenient Features

Both these models work on stains on carpet, upholstery, auto, and stairs. However, the Bissell Spotbot also works on low pile carpets, such as a shag carpet. The Bissell SpotBot has a 5’ hose length. The Bissell SpotClean has a 4’ hose length.

The Bissell Spotbot also has 2 preset cycles to choose from so, you can have a specially designed clean for any messes that you may have.

Warranty

The Bissell SpotClean is covered by a 2-year limited warranty. The Bissell Spotbot, is also covered by a 2-year limited warranty. This means that if you have any problems with manufacturer’s defects within the warranty period for either product, then Bissell will either repair or replace the unit so you don’t have to worry about it.

Pros and Cons

Both these products are extremely effective in removing stains from carpets. The Bissell SpotClean even cleans your deep-set stains at a much more budget-friendly price. Customers found that both models were compact and lightweight, making them easy to clean wherever it is needed, even on stairs. With the Bissell Spotbot, customers even get the satisfaction of knowing $10 of their purchase is donated to the Bissell Pet Foundation to help shelter animals find homes.

However, each of these products have their drawbacks as well. The Bissell Spotbot, lacks the cord length needed to take your machine anywhere. It also lacks the tank capacity that the Bissell SpotClean has. Which allows you to handle a larger job. Some customers have also complained that these models are hard to use on larger stains due to their narrow design, but they are meant to be more portable than your average carpet cleaner.
