AeroGarden Bounty Indoor Garden

Just like all AeroGarden models available on the market, the Bounty and Ultra feature the typical design style of Miracle-Gro’s countertop gardens. A rectangular container is designed to hold several growth pods, and attached to the vessel is a LED lamp whose height can be adjusted to suit the user’s needs and preferences. Both AeroGarden models look very much alike with technically no difference in design and construction. They are both made from plastic and given a matte black finish. The plastic construction might lead to doubt as to the durability of the system, but never fear, the gardens are reputed to be solidly built to last for a very long time.

Size and Weight

Both gardens have been aptly described as two of the largest AeroGarden models produced. Their large sizes ensure increased growing area for the plants. Due to their bigger sizes, they are also very heavy.

Growth Pods

The AeroGarden Ultra is designed to hold 7 growth pods while the Bounty is designed to hold 9. A growth pod can only be used for one plant at any point in time. Therefore, users of the Ultra can grow a maximum of 7 different plants at once. Users of the Bounty should be able to grown an even larger number of plants due to the extra growth pods, but reports from a vast majority of customers prove that this is not usually the case.

Upon careful examination of the two gardens, the Bounty’s growth pods seem to be crammed into the container unlike the adequately spaced arrangement of the Ultra’s pods. As a result, if all of the 9 growth pods are used at the same time, there would be virtually no breathing room between plants. They would overcrowd one another, make gardening difficult for the user, and result in reduced yield. A large majority of Bounty users claim that only 7 of the growth pods can be used at a time to ensure maximum yield.

So, basically, despite the Bounty’s greater number of growth pods, both it and the Ultra still offer the same planting potential to customers.

LED Lamp

The LED lamps of these AeroGarden models serve to provide a perfect substitute for sunlight and as such, contribute to the photosynthetic process of the crops being grown. The downward surface of the lamp is littered with LED lights designed and artfully arranged to supply the required light spectrum needed for maximum growth and yield. The Ultra’s LED lamp is rated 30 watts while the Bounty’s has a 45-watt rating.

The heights of these lamps can be increased to a maximum height of 24 inches so as to provide sufficient and effective lighting for bigger and taller plants.

Though these two countertop gardens are very prolific, the design and arrangement of the Bounty’s LED lights ensure that out of all the AeroGarden models, it is the one capable of giving the highest yield at a much faster rate.

LCD Touchscreen Control Panel

Both gardens come equipped with a functional LCD touchscreen control panel. The panels are very easy to use. One handy benefit of these control panels is the fact that they are automated. For example, the lights can be automatically switched on or off, and reminders given when it’s time to water the plants or add nutrients to the pod. They also provide necessary information such as sowing date, estimated harvest time, and offer a variety of useful gardening tips for ensuring maximum output.

There is an obvious difference in the design of the LCD panels for both AeroGardens. The control panel of the Ultra features several buttons and is roughly hexagonal in shape. Its screen interface is designed with a bland blue color that isn’t really that eye-appealing. On the other hand, the Bounty’s panel has a sleek rectangular look and resembles a pricey tablet. It is completely touchscreen: no buttons. Its screen interface has more flair and sophistication when compared to the staid design of the Ultra’s.

Additional Seed and Nutrient Kit

Both AeroGarden models come with a seed and nutrient kit capable of lasting an entire year even with continuous use. The Ultra’s kit consists of 6 pods of seeds and Miracle-Gro patented nutrients, while the Bounty’s contains 7.

Cleaning

Both gardens are very heavy, making their routine maintenance and cleanup a huge and difficult chore.

Warranty

Miracle-Gro offers a 1-year warranty period on the AeroGardens and the accompanying LED lights.
