Toto Aquia Two Piece Toilet

The Toto Aquia I and II both offer a similar sleek design and are a dual flush two piece toilet. They are also available as a one peice set for a higher price. Aquia I and II are both shaped with elongated toilet bowls in a traditional Vitreous China style for residential use. Aquia I comes in one color, cotton and II comes in several colors: cotton, bone, colonial white, sectional beige, and ebony.

They are both dual flushing and appear to look quite similar. These toilets aren’t the most expensive models out there making them a good choice for consumers looking for a high-quality, good-looking toilet without breaking the bank to get one.

Aquai I is also a bit heavier than the upgraded model, weighing in around 107 pounds compared to 90 pounds. The multiple color choice from Aquia II changes the price range a bit if purchased through a secondary retailer. Many customers were satisfied with the overall appearance of the toilets and complimented their elegance. The Toto brand promises dedication to a universal design allowing accessibility for all ages and abilities. Customers have described the feeling of sitting on this toilet as “spacious”. The seat is also positioned a bit higher than other brands with a delicate skirt, making cleaning the base easier. One particular advertisement also showed that these toilets can be mounted off of the floor which adds to an ultra-impressive look that appears to be fancier and more expensive than they actually are.

Features and Accessories

These are a two piece set. The toilet bowl and seat would need to be purchased separately or in a package deal at a higher price, of course. The dual flush system is applauded by many customers on its power and efficiency. The chrome flush button is located on top of the tank and is sectioned into two parts. One side uses less pressure and water for smaller jobs while the other side uses more water power. They can also be used simultaneously for even more added cleanliness and pressure. The bowl stays cleaner with this feature and reduces the risk of having to plunge or get clogged as well. Customers for each have said that the flush is quiet with a fast refill and remove any debris stuck to the toilet walls.

Each toilet is equipped with an integrated control that allows the operator to select the amount of water usage desired per flush. This ranges from 0.9 GPF to 1.6 GPF.  The Toto brand with both toilets also hold planet water certifications and compliance. Warranty and Customer service

Toto offers a limited one year warranty and requires the product to be registered within 60 days of purchase for any product purchased through them, including the Aquia I and II. Customers expressed concerns with the warranty only covering a year’s worth. The common argument is that it should have the option to be extended beyond that since it is a major household purchase. However, most people don’t ever have a need to use the warranty.

Installation

The toilets can be installed independently or with an individual plumber. Installing a toilet is actually pretty straight forward but there can be some hesitatation for a number of reasons. Not everyone is “handy” or feels comfortable removing an old toilet and installing the new one. There is some prep work involved as well. And then you have to consider that the old toilet needs to be discarded. You might want to check out professional installation services, perhaps a local plumber.

They both have installation instructions available but it is wiser to have a professional install since anything with plumbing is a delicate matter. There are expert services available from online retailer for the installation depending on where you purchase, both the Aquia I and II with the same features presented above. While this particular house call is also available for other models it might sway the decision in where a customer purchases the products.

Reviews/pros/cons

There were many customers that liked both of these toilets. Many customers were happy and pleased with the product while the other half were not satisfied and displeased with the product. It is a matter of perspective and individual customer preference. A few customers wouldn’t recommend purchasing the Toto Aquia II due to remaining residue in the toilet. These toilets maintain low water levels within the bowl as part of their water saving plan. The black toilet might be a cause for more visible residue where the white option may not be as noticeable leaving behind debris.

Other customers expressed concerns about how the toilet sits and that one has to position themselves perfectly on top of the seat so to not hit the water. These toilets are not coated in Sana-gloss which creates water stains over time. Many people were otherwise satisfied with the look, design, and pressure of the Toto Aquia models.

One problem with the first model is that it isn’t as flexible as number II. Aquia II is made to fit other toilet bowl models as the Aquia I is not and requires specific bowls. This might cause a  dilemma for customers if they are only needing to replace one portion of the toilet or can find a better deal on a different bowl model.
