Bissell 9595a vs 1330: Which Bag-less Vacuum Cleaner is Right for you?

Appearance and Size

These machines are virtually identical with the exception of a few design cues. The Bissell 9595 is black with purple or maroon or something (sorry I didn’t have a Crayola box handy when I wrote this) on the flipside, the 1330 is black with orange accents. Because of the clear plastic on the 1330 the brush is visible but not on the 9595a.

Overall, vacuum cleaners are kind of awkward machines, they’re clunky and are usually unattractive. Well, as far as vacuum cleaners go, these two aren’t bad looking.

They share most of the same dimensions, but the 1330 is a little heavier. The 9595’s debris collection tank is a little bigger. The foot width is the same, at 13.5 inches wide.

One Pass

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to pass over the carpet just one time and it collects everything? Well, that’s what both of these Bissell vacuum cleaners are supposed to be able to do. A combination of a unique brush design (the brush rotates down into the carpet pile) and multi-cyclonic power, read more on it here. In fact Bissell states that the 1330 removes most surface debris on one pass based on visual test (BTP0221).

But could it be true? I was a little skeptical about this upon initially reading it, but after digging a little deeper I was pleasantly surprised. There are customers that claim that this feature is indeed true. But, for how long will you have that level of performance? Well, without clinical trials, any answer you get would be arbitrary. However, anecdotal evidence points to the suction holding up over time. But remember, vacuum cleaners, like any other appliance, have an expiration date.

Power

The Bissell 9595 is the more powerful of the two, it has a 12 amp motor compared to 10 amps for the 1330. I think that this is an important difference. With most of the other features being equal this one might be the deciding factor for you. The cyclonic system is designed to ensure that your vacuum cleaners’ suction power for many years.

Power Cord

The power cords are both 25-feet long, which should be plenty long enough to reach all of the areas of your home.

Easy Empty Dirt Tank

The dirt tank for the 9595 has a capacity of 2.27 liters while the 1330 has a dirt tank capacity of 2 liters. Both have clear dirt and debris collectors, hence CleanView. The dirt tanks are designed for maximum convenience as they open at the bottom of the tank. I bought a bagless vacuum cleaner years ago and the debris collector opened at the top, it was a pain in the neck at times because sometimes the top would get stuck and I’d end up getting debris on my hands. The bottom latch makes it a lot easier, trust me.

Filter

A lot of customers seem to be interested in knowing if the filter is of the HEPA variety. If you are not familiar with HEPA filters, just know this for now; they are great. Most importantly, they will help to reduce the number of allergens released in the air when you vacuum. Unfortunately, neither of these machines are sealed HEPA systems. If that is very important to you, then you may want to explore other options.

They are both, however, multi-level filtration systems. There are two filters, one is washable and the other filter will need to be replaced regularly. They do provide you with one Hepa filter to get you started.

Tools and Attachments

The tools and attachments make your job a lot easier to complete. Both of these machines come with the same attachments: twist and Snap Hose, extension wand, dusting brush/upholstery tool, crevice tool, turbobrush tool.

Warranty

Both of these machines have a 2-year warranty.

Summary

In my opinion, when it comes to the Bissell 9595a vs 1330 cleanview product comparison, you are left with an easy decision. They are nearly identical with a few minor differences. The biggest difference being that the 9595 has a more powerful motor, 12.5 amps compared to 10 amps.

The color schemes are the most noticeable difference. The Bissell 9595a is black and purplish, and the 1330 is black and orange. Also, the 1330 has clear base housing that covers the brush while the brush on the 9595 is not visible in the upright position.

The 1330 is slightly, like very slightly heavier. The difference is minute, less than a half-pound difference. The 9595 is more powerful than the 1330, but the difference in performance will be minimal. If it were me choosing, I’d go for the 9595a (So long as you don’t mind the color). Why get the less powerful, heavier vacuum cleaner, especially if the prices are close to one another?
